Supply of TB drugs according to DOTS standards
During the reporting period, the second order of anti-TB Drugs was prepared and launched at the end of January 2013. During the coordination meeting on 26 February 2013, FATA Secretariat agreed with KfW that the third and last order will be launched at the end of 2013, in order to be process in time before the end of the extension period.
TB list of required equipment GeneXpert, LED Microscope
By the end of February 2013 both the LED Microscopes and the GenExpert machines had been prepared for shipping to Pakistan, where they are expected to arrive by the end of March/beginning of April 2013.
Solar panels and solar powered water pumps
The technical specifications have been completed for the solar panels and the technical specifications for the solar powered water pumps are near completion. For the latter specific information from FATA Hydrological Institute is pending to define the size of the water pumps according to the depth of the ground water level at each selected school.
Warehouse for ATT drugs
The excavations for the new building has been initiated and should be completed soon
Printing of IEC Material
100,000 TB sheets, 200 calendars, training modules and diaries were printed and supplied to the TB Control Programme by February 2013.
Mobile Health Units
7 Mobile Health Units and 8 the special eye diagnostic and therapeutic units have been completed and handed over.

Mother and Child Health Care (Greenstar)
The planned activities for the mother and child health care component have been very well received in FATA with many project targets surpassed (see table). Due to this success and high demand for training Greenstar has been asked by stakeholders in FATA to extend its activities.

Clean Delivery Kits DistributionOver 23,500 clean delivery kits have been distributed among the Skilled Birth Attendants in FATA so far. In addition, 24 meetings have been conducted with the previously trained TBAs for the kits replenishment and deliveries data collection.

The project target of 250 TBAs to be trained on Clean and Safe Delivery has been achieved by Greenstar.
Essential Maternal and Newborn Care Training

Essential Maternal and Newborn Care trainings were conducted resulting in an addition of 10 Health Care Providers to the existing pool of already trained providers. The training was monitored by the FATA DHS. At the end of the training, the participants were provided with Clean Delivery Kits for the promotion of clean deliveries in FATA.
