With an aim to improve the health care facilities in the tribal areas of Pakistan, FATA, the Basic Health Programme is being funded by the German Government through KfW Development Bank. The programme comprises of the financing of equipment, infrastructure, consumables, vehicles, mobile health care, mother and child health care, trainings, and consulting services for the Health Programme.
Purpose: Improvement of the quality and accessibility to basic health services in the FATA region.
Programme Executing Agencies:
- FATA Secretariat assumes the function of Programme Executing Agency. It is responsible for overall programme oversight and for the implementation of the Mobile Health Care component.
- Greenstar is the Programme Executing Agency for the Mother and Child Health Care component of the programme.
- CAMP is the Programme Executing Agency for the Emergency Care component of the programme.
FATA Secretariat has designated the consultancy AGEG Consultants to support the Secretariat and the NGOs, for the management of the Disposition Fund and provision of essential medical equipment, and the Implementation of the TB control component in the programme.
Time Schedule:
Implementation period was estimated to be 3 years from 2010 till 2013. An extension of 1 year, till February 2014, has been now added to it.
